The Connley Fishing Diamond Vertical Jig Conventional (VJP) is an extremely versatile conventional boat rod originally designed for vertical jigging but quickly became a favorite for all-purpose fishing. Built on tough, responsive jigging-style blanks, these rods provide the action needed to work vertical jigs effectively while maintaining the strength and backbone required for hard-fighting fish. Available in 15-30 lb, 20-40 lb, 30-50 lb, 40-60 lb, and heavy-duty 80-150 lb classes, the VJP lineup provides an option for everything from lighter inshore and bottom fishing to serious offshore applications.

The 15-30, 20-40, 30-50, and 40-60 models are available in a 6' length, while the heavy-duty 80-150 model comes in a compact 5'8" length for additional control and lifting power. Each rod is equipped with a premium ALPS aluminum reel seat, Fuji Silicon Nitride conventional guides, and comfortable EVA foam grips. As part of our Diamond Series, the VJP combines premium components with an incredibly durable jigging-style blank to create a rod that's equally impressive as a dedicated jigging setup or an everyday all-purpose boat rod.

The Diamond VJP is an excellent choice for targeting blackfin tuna, kingfish, snapper, amberjack, striped bass, fluke, barracuda, sharks, and a wide variety of other inshore, offshore, and bottom species. Use the lighter models for striped bass, fluke, jigging, and general bottom fishing, or step up through the heavier power options for larger offshore species and demanding bottom applications.
